Neste 15 de Agosto, com oitenta anos, faleceu Abbey Lincoln.

Para mim, era uma das grandes divas do Jazz Vocal. A sua luta pelos direitos humanos, contra o racismo, fica colada ao personagem mítico que ela encarnou.

Para os visitantes deste espaço, deixo a versão do clássico da Grande Depressão norte-americana, gravado pela Abbey em 1991, em colaboração com o gigante Stan Getz, para o seu (dela) álbum You Gotta Pay the Band.
